The Forms of Devī

Written by:

There are as many forms of Devī as there are people in this world. The depth of Devī is expressed through these many forms—some beautiful, some fierce, some that may even feel unsettling at first. Yet they are all the same Mother.

So begin with one form that draws your attention. There is no need to choose carefully or correctly. Simply notice what pulls you in.

And if it is a form that feels intense or frightening—Mother Kālī, Tārā, Bhairavī, or any other fierce aspect—there is no need to turn away. These are also expressions of the Mother.

Why begin with a form at all? Because the mind needs a place to rest. Each form of Devī is rich enough that attention can be held within it. When the mind stays with one thing, it begins to settle.

So choose one form and return to it daily. Look at it slowly. From top to bottom, or from bottom to top. Let your attention move through the details without rushing—each feature, expression, and element as it is.

You can make this your daily practice.
