A simple way to meditate on Devī is to bring the word itself into your mind.
You can use any language that feels natural—English, Devanāgarī, or another language you connect with.
For example:
D – E – V – I
or
दे – वी
Find a quiet space. If needed, use noise-cancelling headphones.
Sit in a way that feels comfortable but steady.
You can sit cross-legged with your back upright, or sit on a chair with your feet flat on the ground.
Close your eyes and take a few slow breaths.
Then begin.
Bring up the first letter.
D… or दे
Focus on seeing the letter clearly in your mind, not just repeating it.
Then move to the next.
E…
V… or वी
I…
Take your time moving through each letter.
Your mind will wander. When it does, gently bring it back to the letter you were on. No need to engage with the thoughts—just return.
Start with one minute and build from there.
When you’re finished, pause for a moment.
Acknowledge your mind for staying with you, even if it drifted.
Then come back to your day.
